And we couldn't be more delighted. Pamela's motto is, "Clothing designed to fit and flatter women with REAL figures!" which is a great thing. What I appreciate about Pamela and her approach is she really knows her knits and how to create wonderful things to wear with little fuss. I learned how to get a smooth finish at my hems from Pamela in a workshop years ago, so I'm tickled pink she has agreed to participate in our Love To Sew Sewing Box.
Here's the BEST tip I received from Pamela about choosing knits. I've applied this to ready to wear garments with great results as well. Knits: hold a single layer of the fabric with both hands - a couple inches apart - and give it a good stretch. Let go to see if it springs back. If it does, it's a good knit. If it leaves stretched out indentions where your thumbs / fingers were and remains stretched out, skip it. Imagine what it's going to do at your elbows, knees, and bum! Not a good look.
Be sure to follow along to see all the goodness we bring you with this partnership. Pamela is brainstorming some ideas with us and we expect some wonderful things to support and surprise you when Pamela's Patterns are featured.
My favorites to date are The Perfect T-Shirt and The Magic Pencil Skirt. I've made both so many times I can't count them! I've also combined them to make my workday wardrobe staple, a T-Shirt dress, embellished them, and even changed the hemlines for interest. These are my staples. The nice thing is the pattern pieces are made from heavier paper to stand up to this continued use.
Now, don't go and out and buy these patterns today. Wait until we finalize our plans with Pamela's Patterns because it could mean a discount! Of course, it's hard to wait when you know there's such a good project in your future.
Pamela's Patterns will be featured in our next Love To Sew Sewing Box. The deadline for new sign ups is June 22nd. This box is comes to you about every six weeks. :)
